How to Prevent Blisters From Wearing High Heeled Boots

Avoid getting blisters from high heeled boots by wrapping your feet in athletic tape.

Whenever I wear any kind of high heels, my feet get prone to blisters wherever they rub against the shoe the most.

I’ve found that wrapping self-adhesive athletic tape around my pressure points (on my heel and the balls of my feet) before I first put on the boots prevents irritation and blisters from forming, every time! Wrap it tight enough that it will stay, but not so tight it’s painful.

I have found that blisters are “shoe-specific”. After a while, the skin will harden and you’ll be able to wear them without a blister. Since you have boots, wear as thick a sock as you can underneath, put Kinesio tape  on the place where it rubs.

Kinesio tape also helps in the prevention of blisters in endurance/long distance athletes, though maybe not in any olympic distances. Because it stretches, it conforms well to the skin and protects against friction and moisture to some extent. It’s also supremely sticky, and applying benzoin tincture before the tape can allow the tape to stay on for days.

TLDR; place Vaseline on foot where blisters tend to happen
